Please visit https://wpdrecharge.app to access the WPD EV charging app.
You can use this on your web browser or download as an app to your phone. From here you can begin charging cycles, add credit to your account for PAYG charging stations, search for nearby charging stations and log any issues you are experiencing.
You can use either the app or an RFID card to access the charge points. If you would like an RFID card, you can request one via the website for a small fee.
Alternatively, you can link an exisiting RFID card or compatible device to your account via the app.
The charge rates are set by your organisation and will be noted in the app.
The price per kilo-watt-hour (kWh) of the electricity paid by users during EV charging is set by our customers, based on the electricity tariff at the site where the charger is supplied from. The majority of our Park & Recharge customers have the choice to set the tariff at their discretion. In the case of NGED (formally known as WPD) the tariff is a “passed through” cost that matches the cost paid for the electricity, and it is not operated on a for-profit basis. This also means that when those electricity supply costs change, we need to react and alter the cost per kWh for EV charging. For avoidance of doubt, the “customer” in this case is NGED and the “user” is the employee utilising the EV charging unit.
Commercial fleet vehicle drivers will typically use RFID cards to access the charge points.
To start a charge:
1. Swipe your RFID card
2. Plug your charge cable into your vehicle
3. Plug your charge cable into the charge point
It will begin charging automatically, please check charging has commenced before leaving your vehicle.
To end a charge:
1. Swipe the RFID card* you used to begin the charge cycle.
2. Disconnect from the vehicle
3. Disconnect from the charger
*It must be the same card, or the charge point will not release your cable
All new Commercial EV's will be delivered with a charge card, if you loose or damage your card replacements can be obtained from the WPD fleet team, please quote your registration name and delivery address, your old card will be cancelled and a new card will be issued.
Park & Recharge is a smart electric vehicle (EV) charging solution powered by Hubeleon. We provide the tools and platform to access, support and manage workplace charging. Park & Recharge have been contracted to support the WPD Charging sites.
Please log any issues with us via the ticket desk. If it is urgent, you can call us on 08081861851 and we will attempt to solve issues live, or advise you to the nearest operational unit.
Please include the charge point ID number in all correspondence so we know which unit has the issue. This number can be found on the sticker on the charge point.
Report it lost via the ticket desk or via our customer support team. The card will then be blocked, and will no longer provide access to your charge points.
Not at this time, no. We do however show you other nearby charge points on our maps to help you find them easily, but you will need to sign up with that charge point provider to use.
